Healthcare
Three years after the military coup in Myanmar, targeted attacks against healthcare workers and health infrastructure by the military junta have weakened the government health system across the country. In response to this, a remarkable network of ethnic health and civil society organisations are creating new and community based structures to meet the needs of Myanamr people.
SF supports locally-led and inclusive community-based health systems in Sagaing, Magwe and elsewhere to provide essential, emergency, quality primary health care services, while ensuring the transition to a new decentralised and inclusive health system. Our particular areas of focus for our health work are Sagaing and Chin States.

Humanitarian Relief
Suu Foundation provides discreet and life-saving humanitarian relief to the people of Myanmar who suffer from violence of the military junta as well as the devastating effects of natural disasters. Alongside trusted partner organisations, we are able to deliver relief to the most isolated communities, overcoming challenging geography and continued military conflict.
Human Rights
Suu Foundation is committed to supporting the victims of human rights abuses across Myanmar, to recording evidence of crimes and to bringing these to the attention of the right international bodies. The Foundation supports work to make certain that the sufferings of others are not forgotten.
Road Safety
Suu Foundation has a long-standing commitment to improving road safety in Myanmar. From its early years, the Foundation helped support the country’s first national road safety reforms, working closely with international experts to reduce deaths and injuries on Myanmar’s roads.
Suu Foundation supported the FIA’s first ever high level panel visit to Myanmar. This identified specific changes to policy and practice that enabled changes to the law, the use of seatbelts and encouraged other specific safety steps to help all road users. This work was suspended at the time of the coup, but we look forward to its resumption.
