The Suu Foundation is a 501(c)(3) foundation registered in the State of Delaware and governed under the proper law of the United States.
Established in 2014 through a partnership between Myanmar nationals and international experts with strong ties to the country, its areas of work include road safety, education, health and humanitarian work.
We have contributed to the development of healthcare infrastructure across Myanmar, including creating the country’s first national training and support for paramedics. Suu Foundation also supported national level reforms to develop road safety, and informed changes in law to make it safer for people on the country’s roads. In recent years, our mission has shifted to meet the evolving and varied needs on the ground; our expert teams currently work on initiatives across the education, healthcare, humanitarian relief, and human rights sectors.
Suu Foundation cooperates closely with International Non-Governmental Organisations (INGOs), Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and with Myanmar partners who share our values and whose work we seek to support. Over the last eighteen months Suu Foundation has been able to support more than 420,786 beneficiaries across the country through 27 projects which support some of the nation’s most vulnerable populations, including women, children, internally displaced people and members of Myanmar’s LGBTQ+ communities.
Through non-violent, humanitarian action, the Suu Foundation aims to deliver immediate relief and build toward a peaceful, inclusive Myanmar.
